Enabling peer support workers want to save and access collections on the go

One of Kelty’s most well-used web elements is their Resource Library. The library allows mental health professionals to find and access their preferred selection of online resources.  A few years ago, we built a Collections Tool, which allows Peer Support Works to combine multiple resources into a single link to share with others.

Working with peer support workers

From collaborating with Peer Support Workers, we learned they needed the ability to save their Collections and easily access them on the go. In their day-to-day, it was common that Peer Support Workers would be using different computers throughout the building and not necessarily using a dedicated personal workstation.

First, we updated the Collection tool to include a “Save” functionality and created an intuitive space where Peer Support Worker could easily access their Collections.

We also implemented a magic link login, allowing workers to securely access their Collections from any computer. Magic links are a passwordless authentication method using URLs with unique and time-limited embedded tokens to verify a user's identity during the login process. These links are typically emailed to the users, but can also be sent via SMS or other messaging platforms like WhatsApp.

Since then, Kelty has made the Collections Tool public, so even more people can benefit from this useful resource.
